The Responsibility for Each Euro will be Higher in the Coming Period Than Ever Before

Bratislava, April 8, 2022 - Karol Mitrík, President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) of the Slovak Republic, submitted the seventh annual report to the deputies of the National Council of the Slovak Republic at the end of his tenure. In this report, the Head of national auditors summarizes his seven-year mission. In addition to changes in strategies, organizational structure and management, the Office created space for fundamental reform of the creation of audits during Mr Mitrík's assignment.

For the fifth year in a row, the audit process is preceded by rigorous planning and risk assessment defined by the Office's analytical unit. Also, academic entities or professional non-profit organizations are invited to the process. At the same time, relevant parliamentary committees have been dealing with the results of audits. Therefore they have the opportunity to use their competencies and legislative powers to bind resolutions or state representatives to remedy based on recommendations by the audit authorities.

At the same time, the President of the national authority for external audit encourages the deputies to lead Slovakia through a way of cooperation and faith in good. Specifically through the difficult coming period marked by a pandemic and a reprehensible war in Ukraine that has already had a severe impact on Ukrainians and the people of Europe.
