Educated employees are the basis for the professional performance of independent audit
Bratislava, January 13, 2023 – The Supreme Audit Office (SAO) of the Slovak Republic will cooperate more closely with the academic community. In order to assure that the results of SAO audits will be conducted by highly qualified auditors, it is necessary to correctly set the methodology of their work and to be inspired by successful audit institutions in the world. The office also wants to reach this goal through closer cooperation with Slovak universities. The memorandums of cooperation have been signed by the representatives of SAO SR and several of them, for example with Comenius University in Bratislava, Žilina University in Žilina and Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. Ľubomír Andrassy, ??the President of the national auditors, spoke today with the representatives of the last of them, who wants to achieve the highest possible quality and professionalism of the employees' work through targeted and systematic training.
"This is one of the decisive goals for the next three-year period. I am convinced that the proof that the SAO is a national authority is hidden in a clear and highly professional system of education and in a system that depends not only on the expertise of colleagues from the office, but also on the participation in education by experts from the Slovak and foreign academic communities ", said the head of the SAO. For this reason, the office will follow up on the national project to increase the professional skills of employees, which it has been implementing between 2018 and 2020. Professors from Slovak universities has been participating in this project, financed from European sources.
