Citizens also contacted auditors during the corona crisis, the Office will examine some submissions this year
Bratislava, July 3, 2020 - The verification of the management in public-law RTVS (State owned Radio and Television company), labour-legal relations at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies STU in Bratislava, or the actions of local governments during the COVID_19 pandemic were requested by the Slovak population this year from SAO SR. In the first six months, the national authority for external control received 240 requests for audits considering them important impetus for its audit activities. For five years, since the arrival of its President Karol Mitrík, the Office has been trying to support citizens taking an active approach to problem solving and at the same time bringing its activities closer to the public through social networks, for example through the second year of the SAO SR Summer Studio.
In the past six months, SAO SR President Karol Mitrík informed constitutional officials and deputies almost forty times about the results of completed audits and submitted an annual report about Office activities to Parliament. The results of completed audits can be found on the Office's website www.nku.gov.sk. In a shorter form and more modern format, they are available on five social networks. Interested parties can choose Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn or YouTube according to their preference. At the beginning of summer, the national authority for external audit is once again launching the "SAO SR Summer Studio" project - a series of videos about interesting and lesser-known topics from the daily work of national auditors.
