Andrassy: Market economy rules are replacing public subsidy schemes in Slovakia
Bratislava, April 25, 2023 – Last year, the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) of the Slovak Republic audited 182 public administration entities within 39 audit actions. In doing so, he identified almost 900 violations of generally binding legal regulations, for which the audited entities took more than 600 measures. The most frequent failures occurred in violation of financial discipline, the Act on Public Procurement or the Act on Budgetary Rules. The auditors referred serious violations to the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic, the Government Audit Office and the Public Procurement Office. In five cases, the audits led to criminal reports, six non-criminal ones were sent to the relevant regional prosecutor's office. The results of the audit aimed not only at certain forms of repression, but also at the formulation of 370 measures that would make it possible to implement public policies better, more efficiently and more effectively. Today (Tuesday), the President of the national authority for the field of external audit, Ľubomír Andrassy, ??will appear in front of the parliamentary committee for finance and budget with these conclusions as part of the annual report on the results of the office's audits for 2022.
