Russian auditors were stopped in international structures because of war in Ukraine - SAO
News
Bratislava, March 24, 2022 - The International Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions INTOSAI will be extraordinarily led by the Brazilian Audit Office. It is a reaction from a global organization that has decided to take away the status of presiding country from Russian auditors after Russia started a war in Ukraine. During a meeting with Augustus Nardes, a member of the management of the Brazilian supreme audit institution, the chairman of the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic, Karol Mitrík, stated that this step meant a harsh condemnation of the military conflict. At the same time, it is a clear signal that one of the most important independent organizations participating in the United Nations peace agendas cannot be chaired by a representative of a country that has attacked a sovereign state. The head of the Slovak auditors together with his Brazilian partner and also the president of the Audit Office of United Arab Emirates, Mr. Harib Al Alamimi, expressed support and solidarity with the Ukrainian nation and symbolically visited their national pavilion at the EXPO in Dubai.
The professional work program of President Karol Mitrík in Dubai takes place within the EXPO exhibition grounds in the Slovak pavilion. "We took advantage of the openness of our national exhibit and invited foreign partners to Slovak soil. I believe that even though it is a smaller event on our part, we managed to contribute to the mosaic, thanks to which we sell our small big Slovakia. On the spot, we point to fantastic technical and innovative projects, which are supported by Slovak scientists and entrepreneurs," notes K. Mitrík about the presentation of Slovakia at the world exhibition.
